【字形天體-文字圖像性的現代定位】Typosphäre - Aktuelle Positionen zur Schriftbildlichkeit

一場由12位台法德藝術家共同合作，命名為【字形天體-文字圖像性的現代定位】聯展即將於八月初，在德國首都柏林的重要當代藝術基地-塔中藝廊-開幕，展出長達一個餘月。

【字形天體-文字圖像性的現代定位】(Typosphere)係由文化部駐法國台灣文化中心、柏林塔中藝廊(Galerie im Turm)、柏林Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg區文化局共同策劃主辦，柏林tamtamART藝術協會與Weiβensee高等藝術學院的印刷工作室合作協辦。展覽意旨係由文字的圖像性出發，探討文字在口語紀錄功能之外，本身具有的特別圖像性質。文字圖像性是柏林洪堡大學與自由大學近年設置的專門跨領域研究機構(Schriftbildlichkeit)廣泛深入研究的議題，由多重觀點去理解、詮釋與翻譯文字的圖像性。

中文字代表的意旨文字與由字母拼寫音節構成的拉丁文字之圖像性迥異，透過十二位參展的台歐藝術家分別利用平面素描繪畫、多媒體、錄像、表演藝術以及聲音裝置等多元媒介加以交融比較，進而形成這兩大文字系統間的視覺對話，並激發新的認知和創作可能。

塔中藝廊位於柏林極具歷史建築聚落意義的馬克思大道北端，地點甚佳，在連續幾位極具策展人專業的主任領導下，已然成為柏林當代藝術發展的重要基地之一。除了展覽以外。該藝廊亦時常作為民眾與專業人士一個跨學科的社會文化研究與實踐交流平台。

值得特別一提的是，八位參加此一展覽的台灣藝術家中，除了沈柏丞係在台灣創作，其他七位藝術家洪韵婷、鄒逸真、傅雅雯、黃玄、陳瑩芝、鄒永珊與謝杰廷皆係在德國表現傑出的年輕世代藝術家；上述前五位藝術家更在德國當地組成藝術團體- tamtamART，期為台灣當代視覺藝術發聲。台灣文化中心主任陳志誠表示，「柏林近年來充滿藝文活力，儼然成為西歐與中、東歐的重要平台，藉由和柏林重要的當代藝術展覽機構及tamtamART此類在德活躍的藝術家組織合作，以扮演台灣拓展歐盟文化版圖之藝術前哨站，係中心切入德國重要藝術區塊，並且進一步朝向中、東歐發展與交流的方式之一」。

"Die Ausstellung beschäftigt sich mit chinesischen und lateinischen Schriftformen, die geschrieben oder gedruckt sind. Typosphäre aktiviert einen Dialog  zwischen Kalligrafie und Typografie sowie zwischen Zeichnung und Druck. Typosphäre entwirft zudem ein gegenwärtiges Spektrum von Schriftbildlichkeit.Die Ausstellung vereint acht künstlerische Positionen aus drei verschiedenen Ländern. In dieser Ausstellung berührt die Schriftbildlichkeit alle Sinne: Anne Mundo zeigt in abstrakten Zeichnungen ihr Verständnis über die Nuancen zwischen dem Kalligrafischen und dem Zeichnerischen.Alexander Behn präsentiert seine Buch- und Buchstabenobjekte, um seine gestalterische Auseinandersetzung mit den physischen und haptischen Qualitäten von Lettern darzustellen. Bo-Cheng Shen demonstriert in einer Blindenschrift-Klang-Installation das grenzenüberschreitende Zusammenwirken von visuellen, akustischen und haptischen Reizen. Die tamtamART GROUP beschäftigt sich in ihrer Licht-Klang-Installation mit dem Zusammenhang zwischen Sprache und Stimme sowie zwischen Schrift und Bild. Chieh-Ting Hsieh übersetzt chinesische Notationen in seine Musik. Weiterhin zeigt die Ausstellung Typopoesie von Julienne Jattiot, kalligrafische Comics von Sebastian Russek und eine Lese-Installation von Yung-shan Tsou."

我捏著音樂盒的銀色小桿，慢慢地轉動，溜出叮叮咚咚，像愉快的打鐵工默默敲出沒旋律的調子。紙條上的孔冉冉上升、循環往復，又見牆頭的探射燈穿透小孔，投在牆上成了顫動的­浮影。詩句背後的點字輕輕的，是鯨向海的＜舊照片＞：

時間繼續往前奔流
是我們用意志抵抗了
按下快門的那一瞬間

《讀˙聲字》由藝術家沈柏丞＜閱讀系列＞作品延伸而出，系列作品藉由「盲點」的鋪展，將點字沖孔於音樂卡上，再介以手搖音樂盒「閱讀」音樂卡中的音符。節奏間對應著一旁的­原文，便產生不同的想像，一連串具敘述性的點字音符擁有著豐富的泛音和無調性的旋律，聲音成了文字的延伸。展覽期間將持續創作新作，以盲人的影像創作為素材，將其轉化成文­字，並再次「轉譯」成音樂，於展覽最後一週展出。

1986年生於台灣高雄。大學時期於台灣最南端且純樸的屏東，簡單的生活影響了我創作的形式，主要以影像和平面繪畫來紀錄生活周遭所觀看到的單純體驗。創作持續思考文本經­翻譯與原著所產生的變化，並對於文本再譯後的浮動產生疑問，試驗能否經由盲點再次進行轉譯的動作。曾獲2010桃源創作獎、2010臺北國際藝術博覽會─ MIT新人推薦特區。
試圖從文字的翻譯到感官的翻譯捕捉著原初的光，從視覺觸覺到聽覺的循環置換不同於其他作品層次的閱讀，增添了作品引發觀者思考的各種可能性。聲音，是種不得不接受的感知方­式，另一個角度思考，正意味作品存在的價值。

1986年出生於台灣高雄。大學時期於台灣最南端且純樸的屏東，簡單的生活影響了我創作的形式，其主要以影像和平面繪畫來紀錄生活周遭所觀看到的單純體驗。由於影像創作的關係曾閱讀《靈光消逝的年代》與《明室》等經典中譯書籍，得知這些書籍內容早已譯成多國語言。於是我思考著文本經翻譯與原著所產生的變化，並對於文本再譯後的浮動產生疑問，試驗能否經由盲點再次進行轉譯的動作。在一次與討論中提即盲點和市面販賣的音管式音樂盒機心的音針極為相似，因而有了文本轉點字再到音樂盒的聯想。我藉由敘事性的文字傳譯點字再將點字打成樂譜播出樂章，這裡點字音符的發聲成了我與觀者最直接的對話。

＜閱讀系列＞是藉由盲點以不同於平常閱讀文字的方式鋪展。將點字沖孔於音樂卡上，再介以手搖音樂盒閱讀音樂卡中的音符。節奏間對映著一旁的原文有著不同的想像，藉由聲音來延伸文字，一連串具敘述性的點字音符擁有著豐富的泛音和無調性的旋律。我試圖從文字的翻譯到感官的翻譯捕捉著原初的光，從視覺觸覺到聽覺的循環置換不同於其他作品層次的閱讀，增添了作品引發觀者思考的各種可能性。

I graduated from National Pingtung University in 2008, the college which I attended is located in the south part of Taiwan well-known for its simple life-style.   It has a strong impact in my artist style, which lead me to yield painting and photography that records my surrounding experiences of simple.  After I have read the translated version of "lleine eschichte der photographie" and "La chamber claire", I started to wonder the changes and differences of meaning that may occur via translation. Have this in mind, I wanted to try and re-translate these writings again through braille.  In a discussion during presentation, a point was raised on the familiarity of braille and classic music card which then lead to the transformation of text to braille, braille to music card. Via the transformation of text to braille then to music card, the melody became the most direct conversation between the audience and me.

The “Read” showcases Braille translation through a very different way of reading. First Braille is represented as holes on a musical card, which is then placed in a windup music box that transforms the holes into musical notes. This counterpoint

from Braille to music creates a powerful transformative process. Each rhythm speaks to a different experience, sound extending beyond the confines of written words into a series of narrative Braille notes infused with rich overtones. The work transforms sense of sight into Braille (touch) and from there into the tunes played by a music box (sound). Where this piece differs to the layered readings of other works is its intriguing series of sensory switches which imbue it with infinite creative possibilities. Sound is a powerfully penetrative element, through it words are given voice and the story behind them quickly accepted.

跳 Tone

元智大學藝術中心、圖書資訊服務處與藝術管理研究所將於99年11月17日至12月25日在本校圖書館「美學之道」舉辦「跳 tone–藝術與科技的合鳴曲」展，此展覽試圖透過科技與藝術的合奏激盪出扣人心弦的樂章，邀請國內知名科技藝術家王福瑞、王仲堃、沈柏丞、宋恆、郭奕臣、陳依純與羅禾淋、蔡宛璇、張騰遠，以視覺、聽覺、和觸覺共同打造出藝術與科技碰撞後的驚喜畫面。
時代的變遷，科技的日新月異，不僅帶來人類生活物質的進步，也影響人類的思想模式與生活型態，對整個社會制度與文化層面都產生了巨大的衝擊，藝術自然不在其外。科技對藝術的影響，特別是表現在創作的形式上，目前已發展出攝影藝術、電影藝術、雷射藝術，還有動力藝術、錄影藝術以及電腦繪圖等不同方向。新潮科技與藝術創作的結合，可以使人從不同的角度來觀看或者詮釋身邊習以為常的科技產物，透過數位影像、聲音、互動裝置等方式的藝術創作，讓人不僅僅只看見科技帶給藝術的多樣變化，也可以用藝術眼光觀看科技的演變。
「跳 tone – 藝術與科技的合鳴曲」以圖書館做為展示場所，試圖打破無聲與空間的限制，顛覆圖書館傳統成規，在知識的殿堂裝置多重感官融為一體的創意作品，引領觀眾進入一個充滿科技藝術發想的異質空間，開啟一扇震撼視聽的感官大門，尤其是以聲音為導向的實驗藝術形式，在交織著人、空間與時間互動的奇幻場域，感受藝術除了在觀念意識型態上和科學互相滲透之外，還通過許多微觀的機制和人類的心理息息相通。
本展不僅於展覽所呈現視、聽、觸多感知覺饗宴，另外推出兩場教育活動，一場由音樂人林強所帶來的大師講座─「電子音樂、影像與科技的相遇」，一場是由科技藝術家陳威廷與宋恆帶領學員製作能讓日常用品與數位藝術結合的「吱吱叫」工作坊－Drawdio實作與應用。誠摯邀請全校師生與社區民眾蒞臨觀賞這場跳tone的藝術盛典。

READ showcase in Hong Kong

I/O proudly presents the emerging Taiwan artist Shen Bo Cheng’s READ showcase, an installation series illustrates the concept of a unique way of translation.
Shen is inspired and enlightened by the concept of AURA in the book of Kleine Geschichte der Photographie (1931) by Walter Benjamin, and a series of installations in various scales are made to complete the story of AURA. Each of the installation consisted of two important translation procedures: from Text (book content/ poems) to Braille, from Braille to the Holes on the Music cards (note for the windup music boxes). Through the translation, it creates a powerful transformation for the work; the sound created extends beyond the confines of written words into a series of narrative Braille notes infused with rich overtones. The work transformed sense of sight into Braille (touch) and then further into the tunes played by a music box (sound). This series offers layers of reading to trigger a series of sensory switches which imbue it with infinite creative possibilities.
Artist Biography
Shen Bo Cheng was born in Kaohsiung, graduated from the National Pingtung University of Education in 2008 and is now continuing his MA studies in Image and Space section from the National University of Tainan. Getting used to the simple and relaxing lifestyle in Kaohsiung, the southest and most inartificial area in Taiwan, Shen’s artistic vision are always clean and sophisticated. He is regarded as one of the most emerging artists in Taiwan; recently he won the grand prize in the 8th Taoyuan Creation Award, and was selected to participate in Art Taipei 10 with all his well-received works.

此作品發表於《2010台北國際藝術博覽會-新人推薦特區》E05展位，雙盲事件對本人作品之原創性有極大之衝擊，本人以此作品述說本人的心情，也是對於雙盲事件的最後聲明。在論述前本人先說明作品的表現形式，我延續了閱讀系列的概念，將文本轉譯後的盲點視為《閱讀系列-無言的聲明》的音符由音樂盒播放出樂章，唯獨不同之處在於這裡的盲點並無雙視對照，音樂機心也固定於一個密封並上鎖的木盒裡，那中文聲明在哪呢? 此篇最終聲明鎖在我的心底也備份於盒中。未學過盲點的觀者只能循著既有的文化脈絡，尋找作品的蛛絲馬跡。
